2014 Snowpocalypse

As most people know (considering it made national and even international news), the surrounding area of Buffalo was just pounded with unrelenting snow last week.  Jonas and I were stuck at my parents' house from Monday night until Saturday morning, when enough roads were open and travel bans were lifted for Jonas to go to his dad's and for me to be able to make it home.  My parents got somewhere around 50-60 inches of snow.  The pictures are crazy, but they don't even do it justice.

Papa lodged a ladder in the snow so Jonas could jump off...

but then the snow was up to the top of his head!  It took him a while to get out of that one.

When the front loaders finally did come by the neighborhood (it was too much snow for regular plows), the snow banks were HUGE.  Jonas and I took a walk around the block to check everything out, and Jonas stayed on top of the banks all the way around.

I am so thankful everyone in our family was safe during the storm.  Here's hoping we don't have this experience again too soon!
